North Korea detains US citizen

North Korea is targeting Americans within its borders it would seem. Tony Kim who is in his 50’s, is now the third American detained that we know of in latest months.

According to Fox News:

A U.S. citizen has been detained in North Korea, according to Martina Aberg, deputy head of mission for the Swedish Embassy in North Korea.

“We have been informed and can confirm that there has been a detention of a US citizen Saturday morning local,” she said.

“He was prevented from getting on the flight out of Pyongyang. We don’t comment further than this.”

Tony Kim, who also goes by his Korean name Kim Sang-duk, was detained on Saturday, according to Park Chan-mo, the chancellor of the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology.

Park said Kim, who is in his 50s, taught accounting at the university for about a month. He said Kim was detained by officials as he was trying to leave the country from Pyongyang’s international airport. (Read More)

As President Trump meets with Japan and China to face this escalating threat by North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un. With sanctions against them and an increased U.S. Military presence in the area; it would seem that North Koreas Supreme Leader is only going to increase his missile tests to show the world that he is ready for nuclear winter.

We are now getting word of even more troubling tension between the U.S. and North Korea.

“North Korea on Tuesday reportedly conducted a huge live-fire drill that involved up to 400 artillery pieces, which may have been supervised by the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, as the U.S. added a nuclear-powered submarine to its fleet of vessels powering toward the region.

There was speculation that the North might carry out another nuclear or missile test.

News of the live-fire drill came after the USS Michigan, the nuclear-powered powered Ohio class submarine, pulled into the South Korean port of Busan for a hull check.

The Ohio class submarine was set to join the USS Vinson aircraft carrier strike group for exercises in the Sea of Japan.

The USS Vinson aircraft carrier strike group made it to the Philippine Sea in waters south of Japan, according to senior U.S. defense officials.” According to Fox News

So far, we have not heard anything from the White House as to any plan to act against North Korea or how they [White House] plan to get U.S. citizen Tony Kim and others like him that are detained, back from the clutches of North Korea. With all the increase in troop and fleet deployments, I can only speculate that the U.S. and South Korea are preparing for the worst.

I am gravely concerned what with the U.S. Airforce being unable to fly half of their planes due to low funding and lack of repair parts and pilots. If this turns to conflict, I personally think that we are fighting too many battles on too many fronts. ISIS, Taliban, Syria, and if this comes down; North Korea.

Our stance and status as a World Super Power was severely damaged and weakened by the Obama administration with their acts of cowardice, compliance and shady back room dealings. President Trump has a monumental amount of work ahead of him and if we are to go to war with yet another country, I am worried that our forces may be spread too thin.

Now is the time for prayer and preparation in this Country. Only the actions of our new administration in these dark times will tell whether we are going to war, or maintaining the peace.
